Welcome!

OUR BEGINNING

ST. CROIX FRIENDS OF DENMARK was founded in 1964 by a group of community-minded local citizens who recognized the rich heritage of Danish rule on our islands (1733-1917). Because of the enduring affection of Denmark for her former colonies, and mirroring sentiments on this end, it seemed appropriate and natural to establish a social organization in the Virgin Islands to reaffirm the cultural and emotional bonds between Denmark and her former Danish West Indies. Since 1964, the St. Croix Friends of Denmark have welcomed several hundred members who have enjoyed the benefits of belonging to such a society.

Our MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the St. Croix Friends of Denmark is to increase public awareness and appreciation of the Danish heritage of St. Croix through education, community outreach, and civic engagement while preserving a unique cultural bond and supporting that connection.
